Today 29th April is ‘international dance day’!!!
If we go by the dictionary meaning of dance, it is ‘a series of steps and movements which you do to music’ and so the dancing is ‘the action of moving to music’.
Many of us like to dance but are too shy to break into a dance in public or even among friends (people like me). People like me will not dance if requested specifically but will dance without any insistence sometimes…. man mutaabiq ‘maahaul’ hona chaahiye bas, man aur sharir donon hi naachne lagte hain 
People may differ on what exactly ‘correct dance’ is. I think ‘dance’ is a state of mind. It is spontaneous when you like some music or want to express one’s joy sometimes. It may even be a process of swaying your body- sometimes to the accompaniment of humming or singing.
Classical dance or dance art form and traditional dance are ‘respected’ dance forms and are not part of this discussion today. That is a separate domain, and I am not an authority to speak on that.
Today I present this song, which according to me is a super dance number in its own way where Mehmood and Aruna Irani are performing on the song and also dancing.
I have mentioned it in my earlier posts that I like Mehmood’s dancing. Watching him dance often causes me to do a jig or two myself.
Let us move to today’s movie now. The movie is ‘Man Mandir-1971’.
I associate this movie mainly with its song ‘jaadugar tere nainaa’. Other songs of this movie are also nice songs but they are lesser heard ones. Today’s song is one of them. I was not aware of this song till I checked for the remaining song from this movie ‘Man Mandir-1971’. I remember to have heard this song in the past but I had forgotten which movie it was from.
“Man Mandir-1971” was produced by Sudesh Kumar and directed by Chanakya for Vijayshree Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Waheeda Rehman, Sanjeev Kumar, Sudesh Kumar, David, Sunder, Randhir, Onkar, Jagadishraj, Aruna Irani, Manorama, Indumati, Kumudini Shanker, Helen, Ravikant, Mansaram, Mac Mohan, Paul Sharma, Parsuram, Som Haksar, Nayampally, Krishan Kumar, Farooq Jaipuri, Jagdish Sharma, Baby Kalpana, Master Chikoo, Mehmood etc in it.
The movie introduced Rakesh Roshan and Kanchan.
The movie had six songs in it. Five songs have been covered in the past.
